Hi there!Welcome to my studio, kitchen and garden situated on Canada's beautiful East Coast. What's waiting in store for you? A culinary and visual arts mashup! And... it culminates in an East Coast feast!
First up is my studio. Although I enjoy sketching and painting en plein air (outdoors), I rely on my studio as home base for most of my work, especially in textiles. My artwork is strongly influenced by colour, light and my surroundings. I'm inspired by the sea, rugged coastlines and landscapes of Atlantic Canada. I also find inspiration in delicate wildflowers, gardens and my daily experiences. My culinary inspiration comes from delicious local foods, including wild berries, maple syrup, and the fresh fruit and vegetables from nearby orchards and farms. In the fall, especially, some of these come from my own garden. I enjoy creating new dishes and have a lot of fun with plating and presentation. Check out one of the first recipes I've posted, Mango "Rose" Porridge. It features a "rose" garnish that I created from slices of fresh mango. I also treasure my collection of old family recipes and traditional recipes from the Atlantic provinces. Have you ever prepared hodgepodge or toutons? I'm planning to share my version of these and other classic East Coast dishes with you. Whether I'm at home, in my garden or on the go, my camera is always nearby. Be sure to check out the photos in my online portfolios. Enjoy your visit and come back often! Warmly, |
