A Burst of Spring

A profusion of spring-flowering bulbs burst into bloom in early April and continue to brighten my garden throughout the spring season.  The single early tulips have inspired several of my paintings in various media, but it is perhaps the shimmering silk which helps to best capture the rich jewel-like tones of the tulip petals.
